Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowship

This U.S.-India Climate Fellowship Program was launched in Sept. 2014 to build long-term capacity to address climate change related issues in both countries. It is administered by United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) on behalf of both the governments. The fellowships are for 6 to 9 months. Ph.D. students will conduct research essential to their dissertations or thesis. Eligibility: These fellowships are designed for Indian scholars registered for a Ph.D. at an Indian institution and having conducted adequate research in the relevant field. These fellowships are for pre-doctoral level research, applicants at the final stage of Ph.D. or with Ph.D. degrees will not be considered. The selected candidate will have affiliation with one U.S. host institution. Fellowship amount: This scheme provides J-1 visa support, round-trip economy class air travel between India and U.S., a monthly stipend, Accident and Sickness Program for Exchanges per U.S. Government guidelines, a modest settling-in allowance, and a professional allowance.
