Executive Summary : | The project aims to identify poverty hot spots in district Haridwar, build society's capacity to combat it, and enable vulnerable communities to access affordable solutions through the establishment of a Community Resilience Resource Centre (CRRC). Pre-implementation preparations involve identifying relevant stakeholders, planning and designing the CRRC, selecting suitable STI substantive experts, designing training packages for 10 identified solution areas, and establishing social enterprises. The CRRC will serve as a knowledge platform hub, updating itself on new STI requirements and providing practical training in local languages.
The project seek to select Science Technology and Innovation (STI)-based solution packages with a minimum Technology Reliability (TRL) of 7 or above, relevant to district Haridwar. The selected technologies should be cost-effective, easy to operate, reliable, non-dependent on grid electricity, and suitable for setting up as a social enterprise. The project will be managed by stakeholders, Grampanchayats, and knowledge solution institutions. The project will be implemented over 36 months, with a baseline study, ground preparation, communication materials, and operational implementation. The project will also encourage community mobilization for financial sustainability. |
