Executive Summary :

Chronic wound management is challenging due to factors like malnutrition, diabetes, cancer, and bacterial infections. Wound dressings formulated from biopolymers and synthetic polymers, such as poly vinyl alcohol or poly ε-caprolactone, have limitations such as poor antibacterial and mechanical properties. NanoHyFi wound dressing is designed with biocompatible layers of gellan gum and liposomes, which block the penetration of bacteria and viruses and release antibiotics. This innovative approach has shown promising results in treating MDR P.aeruginosa wounds without scar formation. The hydrogel containing PEGylated liposomes can prolong drug release and minimize toxicity. The wound dressing market is projected to reach USD 11.2 billion by 2025, driven by the growing prevalence of chronic diseases, increasing spending on surgical and chronic wounds, and technological advancements in wound dressings. Emerging economies like India offer significant growth opportunities for market players.
