Executive Summary : | The project aims to create scientific awareness and creativity among underprivileged children in the Pachperwa and Gaisari blocks of district Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh. The outreach programs will be conducted in Hindi, with 10 schools selected for two-day activities. The activities will include demonstrations of scientists' contributions and theories of science and technology, quizzes, hands-on activities, screening of short science movies/videos, interactive lectures by resource persons, and sloka or essay writing on science and technology topics.
The project will directly benefit 1500 tribal students from 6th to 12th standard, with a focus on developing scientific skills, attitudes, innovation, and values among participants. The program will communicate science and technology to students and teachers, stimulate scientific and technological temper, and provide awareness about environment conservation and protection from epidemics and diseases in the Tarai belt of Uttar Pradesh. The target groups for the project include students from government and private schools, as well as teachers. Direct beneficiaries will be over 1500 students and teachers, while indirect beneficiaries will include 6000 participants sharing their learning with other students and families. The project will create a deep interest in science and technology among rural students, especially those from ST and poor backgrounds. It will enhance communication skills, presentation skills, and provide interactive learning experiences in-class and outside the classroom. By participating in the program, underprivileged students will become aware of the options available in science and technology for their future.
