Executive Summary : | The project aims to organize science outreach activities for SC students in government schools of aspirational districts in Garhwa and Giridih State Jharkhand. It will include organizing science exhibitions, making students aware of the schemes of the Government of India, and conducting five camps. The activities will include an exhibition, essay competition, science lectures, demonstrations by science exhibitors, and evaluation with CASSY. The project will be conducted in English and Hindi, with a duration of six months. The district is located between 23° 60° and 24° 39° north latitude and 83° 22°and 84° 00° east longitude. It is bordered by the Son River to the north, the Palamau district of Jharkhand state to the east, the Balrampur district of Chhattisgarh state to the south, and the Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh to the west.
Giridih, located in the district, has an average elevation of 289 meters 948 feet. The highest mountain peak in Jharkhand, Sammeta Shikharji, is located in Giridih, which is 4,477 feet 1,382 meters above sea level. The project will target 2000 direct and 12,000 indirect beneficiaries through this initiative. The project will involve meetings with the head of institutions, discussions and permission for activities, finalizing dates, venues, and inviting guests. The organization will also arrange transport and organize events. Feedback collection and report submission will be done by the end of January 2023.
The project will also focus on science awareness camps, science and technology camps, and science education in rural schools. The project will involve a clear description of roles and responsibilities for the manpower involved. The project will involve brainstorming before the camp, organizing the camp, collecting feedback, evaluating feedback, implementing learning in the next camp, and submitting suggestions to the National Science Council of India (NSCTC). |
