Executive Summary :

Climate change is a severe environmental threat, with severe impacts on human and natural systems. It is primarily caused by anthropogenic lifestyles, consumption, and choices that pollute and exploit resources unsustainablely. Climate change will have detrimental effects on agriculture, fisheries, and ecosystems. There is a pressing need to sensitize students about global warming and climate change, with motivation for voluntary mitigation largely dependent on perceived susceptibility to threats and severity of climate change impacts. Strategic action is required from individuals and the private/public sector to prevent harmful corollaries from climate change. Developing nations have the largest deficiencies in adaptive capacity and urban population. Initiatives like the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) promoted by the UN, such as Climate Action, have been taken to address climate change. The Climate Action program focuses on climate literacy, knowledge exchange, public awareness, and participation by students, teachers, and panchayati raj institutions. It engages and empowers stakeholders, including government officials, policymakers, students, researchers, academics, and environment practitioners, using interactive educational methodologies. The main objectives of the campaign are to improve awareness, increase public and stakeholder actions, empower people with knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes, demonstrate that daily activities can collectively make a difference, and motivate citizens to make small, significant changes to protect the environment.
