Executive Summary : | The 5G wireless communication technology is rapidly evolving, necessitating modular, multi-functional, and high-performance front-end components for fast and secure communication. The n78 5G band, a mid-band frequency of sub-6 GHz (3.3 GHz to 3.6 GHz), is frequently used in India due to its cost efficiency, global compatibility, and speed up to 1Gbps. This band is supported by smartphone manufacturers like Apple, samsung, Xiaomi, and OnePlus and is identified for IsRO's use in the Indian Regional Navigation satellite system (IRNss). Microwave integrated devices using substrate integrated waveguide (sIW) technology offer a low loss, high performance, cost-effective, and easy integration solution for the 5G communication system. The project aims to develop a compact, portable, cost-effective, and reliable RF and microwave system for the n78 5G band. This involves integrating and co-simulating modules in the transmitter and receiver sections, such as filters, antennas, oscillators, and mixers, into a single module to develop sIW-based multiplexers, high gain multiplexing filtering antennas, oscillators with low phase-noise, active integrated antennas, and self-oscillating mixers with filtering characteristics without compromising system performance. |
