Executive Summary : | The project seeks to understand the scientific challenges behind the formation of gradient nanostructure materials for high strength and ductility requirements. It aims to produce gradient nanostructured Al-Mg 5xxx series and Al-Mg-Si 6xxx series alloys using hybrid asymmetric rolling and incremental hammering for high strength applications. The project also aims to develop matrix-free asymmetric rolling, incremental forming, and incremental hammering processes for forming complex sheet metal components from gradient nanostructure metal alloys. The project aims to solve two scientific problems related to the mechanical behavior of sheets of gradient materials during the manufacturing of geometrically complex products. The first problem is to develop special deformation methods based on the severe plastic deformation technique by asymmetric rolling and incremental sheet hammering for heterostructuring of Al-Mg 5xxx series and Al-Mg-Si 6xxx series alloys. The second problem is to study the thermal stability of the gradient structure at temperatures up to 250 degrees C and the effect of the mechanism of hetero-deformation induced hardening on the mechanical properties and behavior of these alloys. |
