Executive Summary :

This project aims to develop a high-performance green EMI shielding polymer composite material with moderate electrical conductivity and low filler loading for externally tuneable smart shielding. The active guest approach will be used to interact with real-time external stimuli, increasing effective filler concentration and decreasing fillers' percolation threshold. This will reduce the cost of the final composites while maintaining their processability. The project will refine current composite preparation processes and create novel, straightforward methods for industrial use. XRD and FT-IR will be used to investigate the fillers' and composites' crystalline structure and chemical composition, while EDS and XPS will provide information about the filler and composite's elemental composition. FESEM and TEM will be used to investigate external and internal structural and morphological features, and electrical conductivity and radiation shielding efficiency will be measured using a four-probe instrument and vector network analyzer.
