Executive Summary :

Wound healing is a systemic process that undergoes different phases such as hemostasis, inflammation, re-epithelialization and re-modeling. But howsoever, the wound-healing process is constrained due to various factors such as malnutrition, diabetes. Obesity, cardiovascular diseases, immune system failure. In chronic and non-chronic wounds, the wound-healing process is the most challenging due to the build-up of microbes forming biofilms which are difficult to treat. The development of hydrocolloid nanomaterials is indeed one to counteract the microbial infection associated with wound healing. Zero-dimensional nanomaterial Graphene Quantum Dots is having low cytotoxicity, great biocompatibility and excellent water solubility. Nowadays, carbon-based nanomaterials are gaining significance in wound healing due to their superficial properties. Betanin and Carthamidin are plant pigments were reportedly having antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, hepatoprotective, antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer activities. The present study is designed to synthesize silver, zinc and titanium oxide nanoparticles from the plant pigments and coat them with Graphene Quantum Dots. The nanocomposite will be further electrospinned with Chitosan/PVA to form nanofiber. The nanofibers will be exclusively studiedunder invitro and invivo conditions to measure the potential of nanofibers in pathogen elimination and recruitment of growth promoting factor in wound healing. The aforementioned nano fibers will provide new insight into the market with the high efficiency in wound dressing materials.
