Electronic Load Controller
Details: ‘Hydroger’ a water mill or a pico-hydro-power system provides an electrical power output of 3-5kW. However, the electricity produced by them requires controlling/stabilizing to run the domestic household appliances. Imported controllers for this purpose are very costly and out of reach for local people. Lanu Jamir designed and developed an electronic load controller that controls the power supply and works as a stabilizer cum controller for voltage, speed and frequency control of output power from the generator. By keeping the voltage and rpm constant, it can vary the frequency and acts like a synchronizer having a power factor of 0.9. Two types of load controllers, have been developed by Lanu, for 5kW and for 100kW respectively.

Benefits
Provides a cost-effective solution for controlling and stabilizing electricity generated by pico-hydro systems (like the "Hydroger") compared to expensive imported controllers. Controls power supply, acting as a voltage stabilizer and controller for speed and frequency, optimizing power output. Allows variation of frequency while keeping voltage constant, potentially enabling synchronization with the grid. The 0.9 power factor indicates efficient energy transfer, minimizing power line losses.
