Patents
The invention describes a composite graphite/polymer electrode for use in various electrochemical techniques like cyclic voltammetry of different redox couples, amperometric sensing of hydrogen peroxide, stripping voltammetry of lead (II) ion, electrodeposition of zinc and electropolymerization of aniline in aqueous medium. In preferred embodiments, the composite comprises 70/30 %wt - 40/60 %wt graphite/polymer, wherein the polymer comprises Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), polystyrene (PS), PVC or biodegradable PLA, and the electrode is prepared by a simple solution casting technique. These electrodes have several advantages over the conventional screen printed and coated electrodes. Such electrodes are found comparable to the conventional noble metal electrode and glassy carbon electrodes.
