A process for purification of calcium carbonate rich by-product generated in industrial processes The invention relates to a process for purification of calcium carbonate rich by-product generated in industrial processes. Particularly bi-product generated in nitrophosphate fertiliser plant for producing high value finely divided calcium carbonate. Calcium carbonate rich by-product is converted to value added material suitable for rubber, paint, PVC and plastics. An environmental friendly process for the production of finely divided calcium carbonate suitable for industrial application from calcium carbonate rich byproduct of nitrophosphate fertiliser plant by adopting purification steps of thermal treatment, pulverization and coating using emulsion of fatty acid or its derivatives.
