The invention relates to a composition useful for the treatment of leishmaniasis, said composition essentially comprising 10mM of methyl-beta-cyclodextrin and pharmaceutically acceptable additives wherein said additives are selected from a group of nutrients comprising proteins, carbohydrates, sugar, talc, magnesium stearate, cellulose, calcium carbonate, starch-gelatin paste, and/or pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, excipient, diluent, or solvent.
