Executive Summary : | Traditional electromagnetic-based wireless systems face challenges in underwater communication due to limitations like attenuation, scattering, and multipath fading. The proposed research aims to improve underwater optical wireless communication systems (UOWC) by using intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) to mitigate these issues and dynamically manipulate light wave propagation. Energy harvesting techniques (EH) can also overcome power limitations in underwater environments. The research will focus on designing, developing, and evaluating an innovative UOWC system that utilizes IRS for signal enhancement and energy harvesting for power autonomy. |
