Executive Summary :

Renewable energy sources are becoming increasingly important due to energy demand and climate change. Li-ion battery technology has grown significantly, with applications in wearable devices, portable devices, and electrical vehicles. India, for example, is importing separators from developed countries like the US, Germany, and China. The government is aiming to switch to electric vehicles by 2030, leading to a significant demand for Li-ion batteries for electrical vehicle applications. To meet this demand, a method is proposed to fabricate separators for Li-ion batteries with competitive properties. The proposed method involves creating a highly porous membrane separator with higher ionic conductivity, good wettability, and affordable mechanical and thermal properties. The process involves preparing polymer films using melt casting and blown film methods, and creating a microporous structure through biaxial stretching.
