Executive Summary :

India, the second-largest sugarcane producer globally, produces over 350 million tonnes of sugarcane bagasse annually. This residue is used as fuel in boilers and turbines, generating 8-10 ash as solid waste, known as Sugarcane bagasse ash SCBA. This generates 15 million metric tonnes of SCBA annually, causing significant land and water pollution. Studies show that this ash contains silica, which is beneficial for cement and concrete production. However, the quantity and reactivity of bagasse ash vary depending on factors like cogeneration method, variety of sugar plants, storage, and collection point. To include sugarcane bagasse ash in standard clauses, experimental results from different sources are needed. This study aims to modify bagasse ash characteristics to partially replace cement in industrial concrete.
