Brief Description

Description :

The proposal aims to use multiple optical and radar remote sensing data including Resourcesat-2A data to map glacial lakes in the selected sites in Greenland for the period 2018-2023. Further,NASA's ICESat-2 ATL03 data will be employed to map lake surface and bottom. These measurements will be used to obtain spatially detailed lake depth and volume estimates using optical remote sensing data. A comprehensive record of ice velocities using ESA's Sentinel-1 mission in order to capture weekly and monthly velocity variations will be prepared.
