Executive Summary : | Innovation is a deliberate change in patterns of behavior of members of an identifiable social system, and it can take the form of a technique, idea, practice, or object perceived by an individual or another unit as new. It is a process that renews or improves something that exists, and can be seen in various areas such as science and technology, health, agriculture, industry, governance, and education.
The project aims to empower tribal children in rural India and make them think innovatively with scientific vision. The program includes a 12 month faculty training program, students awareness camp, project exhibition, lecture by expert, project proposal preparation, evaluation of proposal, funding for project development, and consolidated project exhibition. The direct beneficiaries will be 2500, while indirect beneficiaries will be around 10,000.
Shravasti District, located near the River Rapti, is one of the 34 districts in Uttar Pradesh receiving funds from the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme BRGF. The objective of the project is to empower tribal children in rural India and make them think innovatively with scientific vision. The programs include a Faculty Training Programme (FTP) to equip teachers with skills and knowledge essential for inculcating innovation entrepreneurial values in students, a Science Innovation Awareness Camp covering major skills, and an Innovative Project Exhibition.
Three best proposals will be funded by IMAS for further development, and students will visit enterprises or organizations for their project work. The project also aims to equip students with a scientific mindset, innovation, and entrepreneurship. |
