Executive Summary :

Advanced science and technology are enabling researchers to develop innovative materialistic multifunctional sensing devices with fascinating electronic and optical properties. The rising demand for computerization, security, and comfort has led to the development of new sensor applications, with the number of sensor systems and their variety growing. Sensor design must include new methods and solutions to meet the requirements in these areas, as well as rapid advances in science and technology. Thermographic-based optical sensors have gained attention due to their advantages such as small sensor size, quick response time, precision, electromagnetic immunity, non-contact, and in-situ capabilities. Optical temperature sensing is a promising approach for contactless measurement and large-scale imaging. Phosphor thermometry is an optical technique for measuring surface temperature using phosphor material's luminescence. The process monitors the emission intensity shift of luminescent materials caused by temperature as they communicate with physical systems. Phosphor with high emission intensity are used as temperature detectors, and the temperature change range can be easily calibrated and calculated using key luminescence parameters such as strength, effective bandwidth, and lifetime. Despite the numerous innovations in sensing fields, there is still much to be accomplished. Thermal sensors are a prime-sensor in various fields, and the rapid advancement of technology has led to an increasing need for novel approaches to temperature measurement.
