Executive Summary : | The project aims to develop asymmetric and quasi-spherical cations and their polycationic analogues for ferroelectricity. It will also investigate the anionic parts of these assemblies, particularly heteroleptic aryl-borates and organo phosphorus oxo-anions. Solid solutions with mixed anionic substitutions will be developed to achieve high-performance coefficients. The group is also interested in obtaining solid solutions of pseudo-halogenometallates like metal-cyanides, metal-cyanamides, and metal-isothiocyanates. They aim to obtain Lewis acid-base adducts of these compounds for bond-softening assisted polarization enhancements. The project will also develop new ionic and neutral MOFs with high-polarization ferro- and piezoelectric properties. All materials will be tested for energy harvesting as piezoelectric nanogenerators (PENGs) and memory applications in ferroelectric field effect transistors (FE-FETs). |
