Fellowships & Scholarships
Recognizing that Water is of fundamental importance for human development, the environment and the economy, and needs to feature prominently in the development agenda of both India and the United States, this dynamic and transformative program has thus been developed to foster long term Indo-American science and technology partnerships. The Program is envisaged to provide opportunity to best and brightest Indian students and scientists to gain exposure and access to world class research facilities at University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) and Daugherty Water for Food Institute (DWFI) and to promote research and capacity building in the area of Water. It paves the way for the next generation scientists and technologists from India to interact with American peers, thus helping to build long-term R&D linkages and collaborations.
For Student Internships, Indian citizens currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Water Science and Engineering at a recognized institution of higher education and learning in India are eligible to apply. Age limit is up to 32 years. For Fellowships, Indian citizens having Ph.D. in Water Science and Engineering, working in the fields of water resources, water chemistry and environmental engineering, and affiliated to public-funded R&D lab/ S&T institution / recognized university /college in India are eligible to apply. Applicants must be capable of doing independent research and should have published in high-impact academic journals. Age limit is up to 40 years. Internship is provided for 3 - 6 months while Fellowships for 3 - 12 months. The number of Internships / Fellowships is 5 each per year, that may be changed at discretion of the competent authorities. Fellowship/Internship includes Monthly Stipend, Return Air fare, Contingency Allowance etc.
