Executive Summary :

E-waste has become a global problem due to potential environmental pollution and human health risk, as its containing precious metals and hazardous substances like lead, mercury, cobalt, etc. Recycling of e- waste will be necessity not only to address the shortage of mineral resources for electronics industry but also to decline environmental pollution and human health risk. To systematically solve the E -waste problem more attention of e- waste management should transfer from macroscopic to microscopic scale. As e Waste contains precious metal deposits that are 40 to 50 times richer than ores mined from ground. The major steps involved in E Waste management are collection, dismantling, preprocessing, end processing and final metal recovery. India has seen an exponential rise in the usage of communication devices laptop, mobile phones in the last few years and with this ever increasing consumption E -Waste generation has also increase in country. India lags in cost effective technology and does not have adequate resources. It is very profitable to recover metals from E waste than extracting from ores.
