Executive Summary : | The project aims to instill knowledge on Artificial Intelligence and its applications to Rural School students through games, real-time projects, and multi-sensorial learning. As the Fourth Industrial Revolution accelerates, the future will be shaped by technologies like AI, ML, IoT, Blockchain, and Data science. The project aims to raise awareness in these areas, preparing students to become future-ready and job creators.
AVIT has developed a program to empower rural students with AI essentials, addressing the problem of inadequate facilities for learning advanced technology like AI in rural areas. The project addresses the lack of interest and adaptability of students, as well as the lack of skills in problem-solving and teamwork. The project will address these issues by providing training on AI through offline workshops and hands-on training with academic experts and resources. Interactive events will be held to foster creative thinking and problem-solving through project-based approaches, and team collaboration activities will improve communication and leadership. The project aligns with NCSTC's objectives of spreading awareness on AI, enhancing technological knowledge, and promoting societal upliftment through the knowledge contribution of students.
The project aims to benefit 2400 rural students from grade 6-8 in Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu district, primarily from the tribal community of Irulas and fisherman community. The target group is proportionate to OBC, SC/ST, Fisherman Community, General, and Physically Disabled. The target group was identified based on interactions with the community and the proposed National Education Policy - NEP 2020. The project aims to enhance cognitive technical ability and improve students' skill sets in rural areas. The project has been designed with input from school heads and local students, who have shown interest in learning Artificial Intelligence concepts. The project will benefit teachers by making their job easier, and the target of 2400 students is expected to be covered in a year. The indirect beneficiaries include the society of Kancheepuram, which will benefit from the knowledge dissemination by the direct beneficiaries. |
