Executive Summary : | This study aims to identify social problems in adolescent girls and provide health and nutrition education. It will assess the nutritional status and morbidity patterns of school-going adolescents, as well as identify issues related to physical changes and nutritional needs. The goal is to develop software in local languages, such as posters, exhibitions, songs, dramas, and quiz banks, to achieve these targets.
Communication plays a crucial role in society's development, and folk media can break barriers by reaching the core of society without barriers of education, language, culture, or other factors. Chiranjeeta, a voluntary organization dedicated to science popularization and people's science movement, has organized science popularization movements in backward tribal areas in Dibrugarh district in Assam. The organization has established children's science councils for school children, promoting scientific thought processes and self-confidence.
The Society also organizes a Football and Cricket Coaching Centre in Khowang, district in Dibrugarh, with 200 female male students and a sports hostel for tribal students. The Society conducts Nutritional Camps for adolescent school-going girls every year. Adolescence is a critical period of growth, and poor nutritional status during this phase is a significant determinant of health outcomes. The objective of this community-based cross-sectional study is to assess the nutritional status of adolescent girls belonging to the Schedule Tribe community, comparing sociodemographic factors with nutritional status. Anthropometric measurements will be taken among adolescents, and the pattern of dietary intake will be studied. Action plans should include changes in behavior.
A healthy and educated girl will become a healthy and intelligent mother, giving birth to a healthy baby. The execution of the proposed program will make the girl child healthier and more confident to face various challenges of life. |
