Executive Summary : | The project aims to develop a dual-ion battery with a high energy density and abundance of sodium, a substitute for Li. The project focuses on the safety concerns of Li/Na batteries, which include liquid electrolytes and dendrite growth. To overcome these concerns, solid state electrolytes have been researched, with derivatives of Na3V2PO43/Li3V2PO43 and LiTi2PO43/NaTi2PO43 being considered for dual ion intercalation. The project also aims to develop all-phosphate dual-ion solid-state batteries, focusing on the use of vanadium phosphates as anodes and Lithium vanadates as cathode materials. The project requires expertise in various subfields of alkaline ion batteries and is formulated with the Russian team synthesizing cathodes and electrolytes using mechanochemical assisted solid-state synthesis and the Indian team using wet chemical methods. The project aims to minimize the interface impedance between the solid electrolyte and electrode by nanosizing and using concentration gradient catholyte. The Russian team will also focus on computational modeling of solid state materials. The project aims to produce all-phosphate dual-ion solid-state batteries by both teams.
