Executive Summary : | The main objectives of this project are: 1) Modeling the effect of pH on anode bio film growth and consequent effect on MFC performance and life time. 2) Modeling the effect temperature on anode bio film growth and subsequent effect of MFC performance. 3) Modeling the effect of convective flow rate on bio film growth and subsequent effect on MFC performance and life. 4) Modeling the effect of operating cell potential and cell current density on the growth or dissolution of the anode bio film. Identifying the optimal cell potential and current density for best power output. 5) Evaluating the dependence of anode bio film growth on nature of substrate. 6) Studying the effects of other factors like bio film conductivity and length of the anode compartment on bio film growth. |
