Executive Summary :

Farmers in India often use stubble burning as a quick and easy solution for crop residue management. However, this method has its drawbacks, such as time and labor costs, and the need to prepare fields for Rabi crops. Alternatives like composting and soil incorporation can help reduce soil erosion, improve water infiltration, and improve soil organic matter. Pusa bio-decomposer is gaining popularity as a sustainable alternative to stubble burning, but it faces challenges in spraying the decomposer quickly and optimally on non-uniformly scattered crop residue. This project proposal proposes an optimal solution using IoRT and AI for handling crop residue. A dataset for crop residue will be prepared and published for further research. An IoRT and AI-based system will be developed to collect data, detect and identify crop residues, and predict crop residue areas. An autonomous multi-drone system will be used to spray the decomposer on the target area, minimizing the amount of chemicals used for composting. The proposed solution will test this hypothesis by harrowing the field after spraying the decomposer. This process involves breaking down and incorporating crop residues into the soil, creating a more sustainable and resilient agricultural and gardening system. By harnessing the power of organic matter decomposition, farmers can create a more resilient agricultural and gardening system.
