Executive Summary :

This project aims to develop a synthetic protocol for lithium and sodium silicate sorbents with controllable morphology and textural properties, enabling high CO2 capture capacity, fast kinetics, and stability for thousands of cycles. The project also addresses the challenge of understanding sorption processes at the molecular level, using surface-enhanced ex and in-situ solid-state NMR SSNMR spectroscopy to study gas-solid interfaces and surface chemistry of acidic gases, primarily CO2, adsorbed on industrially promising sorbents. The goal is to synthesize industry-ready high-temperature CO2 sorbents and understand thermodynamically and kinetically driven processes.
