. A thermostable SOD has been identified from a Himalayan polyextremophile plant Potentilla atrosanguinea, which was further engineered by mutation of a single amino acid to enhance the thermostability of the enzyme to twofold. An in vitro expression system was developed in E. coli for enzyme production at pilot scale. |
