Executive Summary :

The project aims to develop a sustainable leather product that incorporates medicinal properties, enhancing its health benefits and quality of life. Historically, leather was used in medicine as a comfort material for bed-ridden patients. However, integrating herbal properties with leather is challenging due to its non-homogeneous fiber structures. The project proposes the use of nanoencapsulation technology to create tailored nanocapsules that release herbal extracts for leather fiber coating. These nanocapsules can be applied to various leather products, such as gloves, garments, and footwear, to improve the life of the leather products and increase their medicinal value. The project also involves identifying and procuring herbal plants with high medicinal values, extracting bioactive compounds, optimizing the compounds, isolating biopolymers, transforming natural bio-polymers into nanocapsules, and evaluating the resulting products in practical applications.
