Executive Summary :

Objective: Development and standardization of folded TRC fencing panel with low weight to strength ratio to attain a production rate of 32m2/hr by fine tuning the existing TRCPT at CSIR-SERC.; Design specifications for TRC fencing panels; Demonstration pf folded TRC fencing panels.

Summary: Infrastructure development is expected to remain a key driving factor for economic growth over the coming years. To reduce the high number of road accidents caused by stray animals crossing the road, policy decision has been made by Government to provide fencing mandatory on either side of expressways in India (https://www.financialexpress.com/india-news/mandatory-fencing-on- expressways-to-check-accidents-by-animals/242734/). In this context, the investment in construction is also expected to favor the growth of fencing market. Developing innovative and attractive fence is anticipated to offer lucrative opportunities to the industries. Developing new innovative raw materials and improving durability can bring down the cost of fencing products over the coming years. Design and development of ready-to-use thin section fence wall panels with light in weight, easy to transport and erect is the need of the day. There is striving demand for materials which meets the requirements such as good bearing against all weathering conditions with least maintenance and maximum durability. The scope of such fencing wall opens up customization of walling solutions for kinds of infra projects needs like right of way (ROW) wall fence for high ways, railway projects, solar power project boundary walls and SEZ land boundary walls etc. In proposed project, folded textile reinforced concrete fencing panels will be developed, which are durable, lightweight, easy to produce, transport and install.
