Description : | Para-tert-butyl toluene is of commercial importance as a raw material for production of para-tert-butyl benzoic acid
. Used as modifiers in alkylated resins, in production of fragrances, pharmaceuticals and polymerisation regulators for polyesters. The product is not manufactured at large scale by any Indian industry and requirement is solely met through imports (IMPORT SUBSTITUTE)
. The continuous process was developed with exclusive selectivity towards para isomer. The basic design report for commercial plant of 4000 MTA was prepared by CSIR-IICT. The commercial plant of 4000 MTA was commissioned by CSIR-IICT and the plant is now operating continuously. |
