For promoting global partnership, CSIR signed a MOU with CSIRO, Australia  for joint research activities in the areas of mutual interest, in  July 2008. As a part of the agreement, jointly funded  research partnership activities included following  areas of research: • Energy & Environment • Biotechnology including Genomics • Health Research • Materials Science • Chemical Process Technology
