Outcome/Output: | 1. A basic process line has been set-up and devices and smaller size modules are being fabricated. The best device efficiency achieved so far is 4.25% for a small area device with an average device efficiency of 3.7 %. Modules of size 5 cm x 5 cm with efficiency of 2.2 % have been fabricated. 2. Inverted structure Devices on glass: Solar cells with inverted structures were fabricated. The average efficiency of the device is found to be around 3.7% of area ranging from 0.05 to 1 cm2 and the maximum efficiency of 4.25% was observed. 3. Sub-modules built on glass: Sub-modules were built on glass with small molecules as well as polymers. The five devices on one module occupy 10 cm2. 4. Solar cells on flexible substrates: Devices were also fabricated on flexible PET substrate. 5. We are now in the process of scaling up the size of the modules being built. 6. The installation of the thermal evaporator integrated with the glove box allows increasing the process integrity and will also allow us to fabricate modules on larger substrates. Some preliminary work on novel molecules such as PTB7 and plan to use these to increase the efficiency. |
