Executive Summary : | The development of small to medium scale decentralized wastewater treatment and recovery systems for micropollutants and emerging contaminants is a novel approach to the growing water pollution crisis. This involves combining standard and nonstandard techniques, such as advanced oxidation, constructed wetlands, electrochemical oxidation, advanced oxidation, and anaerobic filtering. The sub-projects aim to create a hybrid non-sewered wastewater treatment system for safe discharge and reuse, using a rigorous scientific method to manipulate quantitative variables for statistical analysis. |
