Executive Summary :

The study aims to synthesize and characterize nano formulations of selected plant extracts, including Aswagandha, Tulsi, and Giloy, to combat NDV. The study will evaluate the antiviral and immunomodulatory properties of these nanoformulations in vitro and in vivo. The main outcome will be a plant-based nanoformulation with antiviral and immunomodulatory potential. This could help reduce the input cost of poultry farming, enhance production and profit, and improve the economic status of poor farmers. The research will also disseminate advanced knowledge of nano formulations and train manpower. The study aims to address the lack of scientific knowledge regarding the antiviral and immunomodulatory potential of indigenous medicinal plants against single-stranded RNA viral agents like NDV. The study emphasizes the need for scientific validation of indigenous medicinal plants as an effective solution to viral threats, as they are easily available and cost-effective.
