Executive Summary :

This research proposes the development of a point-of-care (POC) biosensor for non-invasive detection of uNGAL in CKD patients. The biosensor will be fabricated by immobilizing anti-NGAL antibodies over the surface of CDs, and a fluorometric LFIA will be developed for NGAL determination in spiked aqueous samples, artificial urine, and human urine samples. The fluorometric data will be transferred to a machine learning algorithm for quantitative digital output. The proposed research aims to provide a road map for future research on immunoassays for recognition of CKD-specific molecular biomarkers in a clinical environment, improving the quality of life for patients suffering from CKD. The project will yield an anti-NGAL/CDs-based immunosensor with a LFIA for detecting uNGAL, a machine learning approach for quantitative analysis of FL spectrophotometer data, and generate intellectual property in the form of a product.
