Executive Summary :

The project aims to convert copper and nickel resources from spent WEEEs (Weather and Electricity Wires and Cables) into high-quality metal powders using hydro-cum-electro-metallurgical methods. This involves processing wastes for separation and dissolution of copper and nickel components, and utilizing a one-step process to convert metal powders to desired shapes. The process will be validated to produce powders at a kg scale, and the project will also conduct round Robin analysis of products. The project is targeted for products with particle sizes below 60 µm and apparent density between 0.5-0.7 g/cm3 and 1.5-2.7 g/cm3.
