Executive Summary :

The proposed study aims to develop and implement a comprehensive methodoligical approach to investigate the evolution of glacial lakes in different time scales and their releated hazard potential using physically-based models in contrasting climatological, geomorphological and topographic zones across the IHR. This will lead to improved understanding and prediction of lake formation, and associated hazards and risks in downstream areas consisting of human population and infrastructure.
