Executive Summary :

The project aims to organize a science exhibition and workshop to instill scientific temper among SC students in Fatehabad and Sirsa, India. It also aims to educate them about government schemes and provide them with the necessary skills for the job market. The project will involve six camps, including workshops on science experiments and scientific temper, expert lectures by state science awardees, and lectures on government schemes specific to SC students. The project will be conducted in English and Hindi, with a total duration of one year. The literacy rate in Haryana, India's northern state, was 76.64 percent as of 2011. Due to limited resources, 303 government schools in Haryana were forced to stop teaching science due to lack of resources. This led to students having to compromise their learning or pay large sums to private schools. The initiative will focus on Fatehabad and Sirsa, the two districts with the largest SC population in Haryana. The workshop will focus on science communication and experiments, with the main target population being SC students from government schools. Activities such as lectures on scientific temper, science exhibitions, and expert lectures will ignite students' scientific temper and help them stay informed about the latest trends in science and technology. The project will target 2000 direct and 15,000 indirect beneficiaries, including Gen/OBC/SC/ST 70 SC and rest Gen Organizations, and will involve science teaching to rural students, innovation camps, and Science Mela organization projects. The project will also involve project management with clear roles and responsibilities, manpower details, and a clear description of roles and responsibilities.
