Executive Summary : | The synthesis and performance of low cost and low viscous heat transfer fluid based on eutectic mixtures will be attempted in this proposal. The efficiency of the fluid will be compared in terms of both physiochemical properties and energy storage capacity. Further nanoparticle addition to these fluids has also been envisaged. This is expected to deliver excellent thermal property enhancement as compared to the base Eutectic fluid. As compared to other green solvents such as Ionic Liquids, Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES) are inexpensive and easy to synthesis. The extended benefit of using DES would be surpassing the inherent shortcoming of comparable green solvents particularly with respect to density and viscosity. The fluids will then be exposed in a forced convection regime at both laminar and turbulent region. In the final stage the quantification of steam properties from the nanofluids will be measured. |
