The Centre for Outreach Programs in Education (COPE) was established at the Institute in August 2015 to undertake and organize all outreach activities for the benefit of society by and large. Centre for Research in Advanced Technology for Education in Science (CREATES) is a Teaching Learning Centre (TLC) at IISER Bhopal. Primary vision of the center is to develop new core technologies to aid in teaching and learning, to create new knowledge resources, to develop new technology-based pedagogies, and to develop a sustainable platform for creating, sharing and delivering knowledge.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, established Center for Research on Environment and Sustainable Technologies (CREST) at IISER Bhopal as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) with major objective of building a structure that eventually helps in understanding the interactions between air, water, and earth mega systems on several scales ranging from local to global. The CoE has a mission to carry on multidisciplinary research and training in clean environment (air, water, and land), and sustainable development as thrust areas.
