Description :

Para-tert-butyl methyl benzoate is a very important intermediate widely used in organic synthesis, pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics, flavours and fragrance industries. The Annual demand is approximately 8,000 TPA in India alone and the entire demand is met through import from china. The product is not manufactured at large scale by any Indian industry and requirement is solely met through imports. The raw material para-tert-butyl benzoic acid is produced by CSIR-IICT’s technology. The basic design report for commercial plant of 3000 TPA was prepared by CSIR-IICT. The commercial plant of 3000 TPA was commissioned by CSIR-IICT and the plant is now operating continuously.
