A Process for the Production of Thermostable Alpha Amylase

This enzyme is used in textiles and food industry and in many other applications. The gene encoding thermostable alpha-amylase from a mutated strain of Bacillus sp. MK 716 had been clone, sequenced and analyzed. The final construct p Amy B was cloned in an E. coli-B. Subtilis shuttle vector. The recombinant strain used in the study was Bacillus subtilis BHAT9. The Recombinant plasmid is 98-100% stable in cultures after 48 hrs of incubation in shake flasks and in Fermentors. 1.Demonstration of the process at 20 lit scale 2.Demonstration at 100 lit scale 3.Yield 1,30,000 to 1,50,000 unit/ml
