A Process for the Production of Thermostable Alpha Amylase

This enzyme is used in textiles and food industry and in many other applications. The gene encoding thermostable alpha-amylase from a mutated strain of Bacillus sp. MK 716 had been clone, sequenced and analyzed. The final construct p Amy B was cloned in an E. coli-B. Subtilis shuttle vector. The recombinant strain used in the study was Bacillus subtilis BHAT9.
