IN267483: A process for the preparation of oxide superconducting rod

The present invention provides a method of manufacturing an oxide superconducting rod. The method comprises a cold iso-pressing step without the addition of a binder, and in particular an oxide superconducting rod due to a thin silver-addition (Bi, Pb) 2 Sr 2 Ca 2 Cu 3 O 10 + x is disclosed. The main features of this method are that a partially preformed oxide superconducting powder obtained from a nitric acid solution of spray dried Bi, Pb, Sr, Ca, Cu and Ag is wrapped in a perforated metal sheet and its inner surface is coated with olive oil Filling the rubber mold and removing the partially preformed powder that has been filled to remove air, thereby improving the subsequent cold iso-pressing to reduce defects and form the rods. Also, the surface of the rod is immediately cleaned to remove olive oil; Initially sintering the rod in a silver tube / aluminum scraping; Forming silver metal bonds at both ends of the initially sintered rod; The rod and both ends also include final sintering of the metal bond assembly. The rod obtained according to this aspect exhibits a desirable and constant value of a transport current of at least 36 Amps, a junction resistance of 77 K and a field of less than 0.015 ?Ohm-cm 2 in its field, and a break strength of more than 140 MPa.
