IN280669: An improved process for electroless nickel coating on mild steel substrate

The invention relates to development of an improved process for coating of electroless nickel on mild steel substrate using modified bath having a higher rate of deposition in the range of 38-42 urn/h and good surface finish as well as coverage with high hardness. An improved process of electroless nickel coating on mild steel substrate which comprises preparation of specimen by mechanical polishing, degreasing, washing, drying and rinsing with acetone and putting in suitable bath containing nickel salts or potassium salt, reducing agents, complexing agent, stabilizer, surface smoother, buffers and heating the bath under stirring condition at 85-95°C and at pH 6-8.
