A for reformulation of FCC gasoline feedstock over a acidity and porosity improved noble metal incorporated pentasil zeolite based catalyst includes the steps of providing a pentasil zeolite having an initial Si/AI ratio, contacting the material with steam at high temperatures followed by washings with acid and deionized water to obtain a final material having increased Si/AI value, porosity and acidity, contacting the feedstock having an initial aromatic content, olefin content and paraffin content and initial octane number; with the catalyst material in a fixed bed down-flow reactor under a hydrogen atmosphere, temperature and pressure so as to provide a final product having a final aromatic and olefin contents less than the initial contents in the feedstock, a final branched paraffin content and octane value which is substantially higher than that of the feedstock, wherein the conversion of olefins and aromatics in the feedstock into branched paraffins is responsible for increase in octane number of the processed end product.
