IN305123: A process for recovery of metal values spent hydro-processing catalyst

The invention relates to a process for recovery of metal values from spent catalyst of hydroprocessing catalyst. The spent catalyst was roasted and added to the Sulphuric acid solution. The obtained slurry was allowed to settle down and then filtered. Leach liquor contain molybdenum , Vanadium, Nickel and Aluminium. Molybdenum and Vanadium present in leach liquor were extracted by organic solvent alamine 308. Molybdenum and vanadium were stripped out from the loaded organic by ammonia solution. Precipitating vanadium and molybdenum from the strip solution by adjusting pH. Precipitating nickel as nickel sulphide and recovering nickel as nickel sulphate/metal by a known process. Recovering aluminium from the filtrate obtained as bohemite I alumina by a known process.
