The invention relates to a process for preparation of Magnesium (Mg)- Aluminum (Al) alloy. Particularly, the present invention relates to a process for preparation of Magnesium (Mg)-Aluminum (Al) alloy from its halide salt. More ‘particularly, this invention relates to a process-in which the Magnesium-Aluminum alloy was directly prepared from its corresponding alkali chlorides through electrolysis for simultaneous deposition‘ of Magnesium and Aluminum metal at cathode. The invention will be useful for preparation fine Magnesium-Aluminum alloy powder which has a wide application in defense, aerospace and automobile industry.
